More Puppy Pictures!!

 Lol, I promise someday I'll have something other than just puppy pictures to post on here. Hopefully most people are enjoying them in the meantime. :P

I brought each of Breeze's puppies outside for a few minutes for the first time yesterday. Fritter enjoyed himself. Most everyone else was kind of intrigued by how much there was to sniff, but not super thrilled at how cold and windy it was. Crisp was NOT impressed in the slightest! As a result, it was quite difficult to get halfway decent pictures, but I tried. :P 

Here's Breeze's crew at just shy of 7 weeks.

Fritter: RESERVED. Fritter is a fun, playful boy. He has a wide independent streak - he's able to keep himself entertained well. However, he also enjoys human interaction and absolutely melts for tummy rubs.

Cider: AVAILABLE. Cider is super, super sweet and happy. He is very playful and has a moderately high energy level. I think he will be a vibrant, red-gold in color, possibly with black shading over the base color. He may be a touch dominant and should possibly be the only male dog in the home.

Betty: AVAILABLE. Betty is sweet with moderately high energy and drive, and has good attention to her person. I think she would probably enjoy a fairly active home, and might even be a good candidate for agility, other dog sports, or working on a farm. She certainly would make a great pet, but may need a bit more exercise and mental stimulation than the average Collie. I think she will be fairly compact in build. 

Streusel: RESERVED.  You'll notice that Streusel's picture is different...he wouldn't stop following at my heels, so I couldn't get a good distance picture of him. :P I finally gave up and just captured his sweet little teddy bear face! He is turning into the absolute sweetest pup who will spend good portions of his play session with his siblings begging for me to pick him up and snuggle him. He is going to a family with 4 young kids, and I think he is going to be their best buddy. <3

Candy: AVAILABLE. Candy is as sweet as her name, and still gives the best puppy kisses of anyone. She seems to be moderate in energy and drive and while she can play hard like any puppy, she just loves to be loved like her mama Breeze. I could see her thriving in a fairly low-key pet home.

Crisp: RESERVED. This little princess makes me laugh. She is tiny, but is by far the fluffiest puppy, and she just struts around like she owns the place. She's a touch independent but also enjoys a good snuggle. I think she's going to continue to win hearts her whole life long.

Cobbler: AVAILABLE. Cobbler is such a sweetheart, but he can be a little challenging to interact with because he likes to show his affection with his teeth. 😂 He is a big, sturdy tank of a boy who is active and adventurous. I could see him being a spectacular hiking buddy.

And Hazel's crew. They turn 9 weeks today! Murray and Acorn are doing great in their new homes. Cashew/Shepherd and Chestnut head home in early January. Peanut is still AVAILABLE.

I got a couple really nice portrait style pictures of Shep and Chestnut; the rest are just a fun photo dump of the "kiddos" playing.

And Chestnut. It's always interesting to see how personalities develop...she used to be a lot more "forward" and bossy, but has become much more "middle of the pack" and is not at all pushy or demanding toward people. I think she'll really thrive once she's away from her siblings and getting regular attention and training.

Time Flies!!

 Time flies so quickly - Hazel's puppies start going home TOMORROW!! Isn't that crazy??

Acorn will be staying in Maine, but a couple hours further in. She's a sweet girl, possibly lower in the pack ranking. She likes to explore.

Murray will be going about an hour from me in NH, and will be joining his big sister Maisie from the Thane x Breeze 2021 litter. He's a HAPPY, HAPPY boy!! He's difficult to photograph with my phone because as soon as you get close, he's literally bouncing over to say hi. :P

Chestnut is likely going to a breeder friend of mine in South Carolina. The current plan is for me to deliver her and Cashew/Shepherd myself after Breeze's puppies go home in early January. Chestnut is happy, sweet, sturdy and athletic. She is a little bossy toward her siblings occasionally, but is great with people and the adult dogs. I think she'll look a fair bit like Mama Hazel.

Cashew is now Shepherd, and will be going to hopefully sire some pups himself eventually in Missouri! I think he's going to be a really cool dog - he's very responsive to training, and is happy and energetic. He's also very BIG, at nearly 14 pounds!! I'm wondering if he'll take after Grandpa Henry and be 65-70lbs when mature.

I didn't get any individual pictures of Peanut, but here she is chasing Acorn, lol. Sweet, sassy, and rather bossy, Peanut is AVAILABLE. She's got so much potential - she has fabulous eye contact, is very responsive to training, and is brave and outgoing. I personally think she's something special, and a part of me wishes I could keep her, but I really can't. 

Lol, here's one more picture of Murray just being sassy. I think he was chewing on a twig. :P

As for Breeze's crew, they can start going home in just over two weeks. I need to get updated photos, but here's the current rundown on availability. Note that all reservations are pending further observation of temperament - I try very hard to work with future owners to make sure that the puppy is a good fit for them.

Fritter: loosely reserved for the Leonard family

Cider: likely available

Betty: available

Streusel: loosely reserved for the Trumbull family

Candy: available

Crisp: reserved by the stud owner

Cobbler: available

Cider has been feeling a little unwell, so I'm hesitant to say much about his temperament, but so far he seems like a very sweet and happy boy. Betty is moderately high energy and drive; she may be smaller and probably should have a job. Candy is sweetness incarnate, and has a lower to moderate energy level. Cobbler is very "busy" and drivey; I'm trying to decide whether he's actually high energy, or if he is just energetic in short bursts. :P 

And yes, I'm exhausted. 😂😂😂 I'm grateful that God has given me good health and enough energy throughout this, that He has kept the puppies safe, and that He gave me kind, helpful family members and the flexibility at work to do some odd shifts. This has been an adventure...and I don't plan on repeating it for a good long time. I'm probably not breeding again until at least the spring of 2024. :P

Updates on Breeze's Puppies

The puppies are growing up fast! Hazel's can start going home Tuesday. Murray and Acorn are hopefully going home that day...Cashew/Shepherd and Chestnut are staying with me until early January, when I plan on delivering them to their homes in Missouri and South Carolina (road trip, anyone?? 😆). 

 Peanut is still available:

Breeze's puppies are a little over 5 weeks old now and are getting more active all the time! One of my favorite things is to turn them loose and sit on the floor while they rampage around the room. 

I'm still working through availability on the boys. Two are almost certainly reserved. 1-2 are probably available. 

Crisp, the tricolor girl, is likely reserved. The two sable girls are currently available.

Here's what they look like.

Fritter, male. He's a funny boy...a bit stand-offish and independent now. I'm guessing his personality will come out more when he gets a home and is the only puppy. Those ears will almost certainly stand up!!

Cider, male. He went from somewhat shy and antisocial to one of the most playful and friendly pups within a couple days this past week, lol. I think he's going to be breathtakingly handsome with his rich reddish color and perfect blaze.

Apple Brown Betty. Small and spunky, I've started calling her my fierce little warrior princess... and yet, she gives the best snuggles, laying her head on my chest. ❤️ Betty is AVAILABLE. Claim her now before I can't say goodbye!! 😂 

Streusel, male. This is one cool-looking pup! I'm curious if the dark shading will stay as he matures. He's silly, playful and happy. Snuggling isn't his favorite yet, but he loves getting attention with his paws on the floor. He's another one I'm trying not to get too attached to. 😝

Candy. As sweet as her name, she gives the best kisses!! She's happy and wriggly and everything that a puppy should be! Candy is AVAILABLE.

Crisp. This girl is the smallest, but is the fluffiest, and she struts across the floor like she owns the place. 😂 She's playful but also very, very sweet. I love her unique markings! She is likely reserved.

Cobbler, male. This boy makes me laugh - he is super silly and playful! I think he will be fairly high energy, though I know he doesn't look like it in the picture - I had just awakened him from a nap. 😝

So there you have it!! I'm hoping I'll know more about availability within a few days, but feel free to inquire if someone catches your eye. Remember, I'm planning on doing a delivery run along the eastern seaboard, so distance may not be an issue.

Introducing Daisy! And Puppy Photo Dump

This past week, I added a young Nubian doe to my goat herd. I've wanted this breed for a while, so I was excited to find one at a good price just down the road. Her name is Daisy, and she seems very sweet! So far she seems to be getting along well with the other goats, and may even be the new herd queen.

 Dad came over today and worked some on buttoning up what I'm calling my Franken-barn...lol, it started out as the chicken coop, but I keep adding more sections onto it. It currently houses the chickens, rabbits, goats and my supply of hay. The ducks also lived in it before I sold them...I'm currently renovating their area. I'm going to add solid walls and either move the rabbits there or turn it into a milking area for when I eventually have goats in milk.

I also brought each puppy from Hazel's litter outside for a few minutes. This was the first time for almost everyone (Cashew got a brief outing last week) as it's been too cold for little puppies most of the time. Today was mild enough and they've got enough fluff now to keep them warm for a little while. :P

Here is an epic number of photos of Hazel's pups...warning...they are at maximum cuteness level now!! They can start leaving a week from tomorrow...I believe two sable girls are definitely claimed (still working out who is going to which owner). Murray is reserved and Cashew is under evaluation. I believe I have an opening for a sable girl still.

Cashew:

This boy cracks me up. He has obviously inherited his daddy Thane's ability to pose well for photos. He's silly and serious...an absolute lover boy who adores being cuddled...but hates having the top of his head patted. :P I think he's going to look a lot like Thane.

Chestnut:

I was disappointed I didn't get very many good pictures of this spicy little girl (except that last one!!). I think she's going to be a very fun pup - she's quite alert, playful, and just seems to really enjoy interacting with people. In one photo, you can see her zooming toward the camera - she was coming to me calling her. She can be QUITE bossy toward the other pups, and has even sassed her mama! :P She's quite beautiful and seems athletic.

 Acorn:

This puppy is just a doll. I've almost never seen her cross with her siblings...she typically just prefers to roll with the punches and go happily on her way. She is more of a background puppy - she loves attention, but is a little less pushy about getting it than some of the others. She was a little bit nervous about being outdoors, and was happiest being right at my feet, but did explore a little bit. 

Murray:

Murray is like the class clown. :P He is totally Mr. Personality. He'll be sitting at the edge of the puppy pen, looking like the saddest puppy in the whole world. If you acknowledge him, he does a little happy dance...and if you pick him up, he's wriggling in your arms trying to lick your face. He will play with you while in your arms, too. He was a bit hesitant about being outside for a minute or so...and then was zooming around, having an absolutely grand time. I think he's going to be a very fun dog just overflowing with personality! 

Peanut:

This little girl absolutely melts me for some reason. I really, really shouldn't keep one from this litter, so I'm hoping Peanut goes to someone I know or someone who posts lots of photos. :P Peanut seems very sweet and calm. She often will sit at the back of the pack waiting for attention, though I've seen her boss her siblings occasionally too, so I know she's got some grit. She seemed to really enjoy exploring the outdoor area. I think she will likely be a very bright, golden color - possibly even more so than Hazel.
