Whew, I didn't actually mean to take a break from blogging...life has just picked up lately. As soon as the pups went home, I went back to work full time.
Henry comes to work with me every day, which is awesome. He hangs out in the office while I'm on the sales floor, and all my coworkers visit him and love on him...we joke that he's the emotional support dog for the staff. He has a great personality for this "job" - he loves all the attention, and will bounce from person to person and wend his way between their legs, lol.
Since I haven't posted for a little while, here are a bunch of photos of the goings-on at the Domestead!
First, meet the two newest additions to Butterscotch Farm - Poppy (foreground) and Snowy (background). These two are feral kittens; I have a co-worker who has a colony behind her place, and occasionally traps the cats and has them spayed/neutered. If she catches kittens, they can usually be tamed. I'm making pretty good progress with these two - Snowy purrs every time I hold her. Their full names are Snowdrop and Bubblepop...named by my nieces. ;)
The four chicks are growing well. I believe all but the yellow one are roosters, but that's fine - I'll let them grow up and then pick one or two to replace my current rooster. It's fun to watch them - the colors keep changing as they mature.
Here are some of the other birds...I have 3 inside trying to be broody, though only one actually has eggs under her, lol.
Henry keeping an eye on me.
Bartholomew. He's a very sleek and active kitty!

The goat herd.
Thane...unlike the girls, he can be off leash around the goats and not harass them.
Though when they ran, he followed after them...which I found encouraging, since he got turned off of herding a few months ago when he got a nasty head butt from one of the boys. (Please ignore how ugly my goat enclosure is....more permanent structures hopefully coming soon!!)
Looking rightfully proud of himself!
The cat likes to follow me around when I'm out in the goat field. I think he was just pretending to be scared here, lol.
The goats keeping an eye on Thane. They're pretty sure that he's a pushover, but they're still cautious.
His fur looks messy because he's "blowing coat," by the way - Collies lose their downy undercoat in the spring.
Henry. He's really a very good little boy...he gets worked up playing with the adult dogs sometimes, but is generally pretty chill.
He still has the puppy clumsies, but generally seems pretty athletic and agile for his age.
Oh, here's big news - the homestead will not be the Domestead much longer...Dad is building me a cottage instead. I'll be going from 314 "square" feet to 560. :D
So there you have it...lots going on! I hope everyone is having a good summer so far! :)
